HOLIDAY VILLAGE UITTOTUPA and KARVIO CAMPING provide accommodation, catering and enjoyable experiences in the municipality of Heinävesi, eastern Finland. The holiday centre is situated on road number 23 on the northern shores of Lake Kermajärvi.
Our holiday cabins are in use throughout the year while our basic cabins are available from May to late autumn. In 1999 Karvio Camping was nominated the Caravan-area of the year in a national poll. Karvio Camping is open from May 1st to September 15th as are the Pizza restaurant and the Uittotupa steak- and fish restaurant. At other times catering services are available upon order.
Within a distance of approximately ten kilometres are the monastery of Valamo and the convent of Lintula, the only Orthodox monastery and convent in the Nordic countries. The distance to the main village of Heinävesi is 26 kilometres by car and nine by boat. Varkaus is 50 kilometres away and Joensuu 70.
The Karvio rapids running beside the camping site constitute a fishing zone that is cared for by Metsähallitus / Wild North and open almost all year through. The village of Karvio itself has a petrol station, a bank and a village shop. We bid you welcome to familiarise yourself with the area.
